EVIDENCE AT INQUEST
That Frederick Maguire (45), married, shift boss, of 45A Dwyer street, Boulder, lost his life in an effort to save that of his companion, Ljubo Markotic. When the bodies were extricated from beneath the rock, Maguire's left hand strongly held Markotich's right wrist, suggesting, witnesses said, that Maguire had noticed the rock falling, and had delayed his own escape in an effort to drag his companion clear.

There is a street named after him in Somerville, Kalgoorlie - Maguire Street
