Breach of Mines Regulations.
William Henry Williams, the Registered manager of the Hannans Reward and Sit. Charlotte, Ltd., was fined £1, with 2/ costs, by Mr. E. P. Dowley, R.M., in the Kalgoorlie Police Court yesterday morning for having neglected to examine a portion of the mine in which Joseph Dobrigh, a tributer, was recently killed by a fall of earth. The proceedings arose out of the evidence the defendant gave at the inquest into the cause of the death of the deceased, at which he admitted not having inspected that part of the property for three weeks, because he considered the tributers competent. A heavy penalty was not asked for.
