Diagnosis or cause of accident
The coroner (Mr. M.A. McCabe,J.P.) and a jury consisting of Messrs D. Morgan (foreman), W. Horn and A. Grieve held an inquest into the death, of Peter Thomas Knuckey, who was killed by a fall of rock. Dr. Holland, who had made a post-mortem examination, gave evidence to the effect that the deceased's head was broken from the bridge of the nose to the base of the skull. He died from these injuries. The deceased's mates and Constable Brody gave evidence. The jury found that the late Peter Thomas Knuckey was accidentally killed on the Ballarat leases on September 18, 1908, and that no blame could be attached to anyone

Jane Ann HARRISON : Jane Ann Harrison was born in 1841 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland. She married Richard Kendall Knuckey on 18 May 1864 in Beaufort, Victoria. They had seven children in 19 years. She died on 3 July 1922 in Melbourne, Victoria, at the age of 81.

The Friends of Mrs. PETER KNUCKEY are respectfully informed that the remains of her late husband will be removed from the White Feather Hospital for interment in the Wesleyan portion of the Kanowna Cemetery. Funeral to leave at 4 o'clock To-day John Mclver, Undertaker.

IN MEM0RIAN Kanowna, Sept. 19
The funeral of the late Peter Knuckey, who was killed by a fall of rock while working his claim on the Ballarat leases, took place on Saturday afternoon. The funeral was the largest seen in Kanowna for many years. The cortege was headed by about 200 of the deceased's brother unionists, who marched to the cemetery. The Rev. F. A. Pearce (Wesleyan minister) conducted an impressive service at the graveside. A jury, consisting of Messrs. D. Morgan, W. Horn, and A Grieve, with Mr. M. A. McCabe, coroner, were appointed to enquire how the deceased met his death. The jury viewed the body and the scene of the accident, and the inquest was adjourned till next Thursday.
