A family who lived in Victoria, and who never travelled to Western Australia, lost two sons both the same age to the WA Goldfields. Their father pre-deceased them by three weeks in 1902. So their mother would be devastated to lose her family in so short a time. Albert Edward HOURIE, Millhand, Age 24yrs, died of a fractured skull at the Golden Horseshoe Mine in Kalgoorlie Boulder on 13th Aug 1902. He is buried in the Kalgoorlie Cemetery.

Charles HOURIE, Miner aged 24yrs,  d 29 Aug 1904, died from the inhalation of dynamite fumes after an explosion at Waihi GM, Davyhurst. He is buried in the Davyhurst Cemetery, Western Australia.

They were the sons of John HOURIE and Sarah Ann nee FLOWERS of Clunes Victoria. The boys father, John Hourie had only died three week prior to this and Albert was engaged to be married in a  few weeks.
